This is a full-time position and offers a comprehensive benefits package including a generous employer contribution towards health, dental and vision insurance. The salary range is $60k-$80k, depending upon education and experience.

The ideal candidate is experienced in fundamental optical theory and microscopy application, and is able to travel domestically and internationally in support of our renowned customers.  Candidates should have familiarity with advanced imaging platforms including multiphoton, light-sheet, spinning disk confocal, widefield fluorescence and transmitted light (brightfield/DIC). 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD degree in biological, physical sciences, engineering, or a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Required.

  • Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team; attention to detail, excellent organizational, analytical, customer service, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills; and an understanding of laser safety. Required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the alignment, operation, and optimization of advanced imaging platforms—including multiphoton, light-sheet, spinning disk confocal, widefield fluorescence, and transmitted light (brightfield/DIC). Preferred.

  • Experience in research laboratory environment (which may include experience gained as an undergraduate). Preferred.

Responsibilities:

A Microscopist is responsible for instrument assembly, testing, installation, troubleshooting, repair, training, on-site visits and support case management. Consequently, the position requires up to 75%  travel and involves significant time at customer sites working with microscopy systems and interacting with users.
