Description
Intelligent Imaging Innovations (3i) is looking for an Electronics Technician Intern to assist with building electronics for microscopy equipment. This is a paid, six-month internship and a great opportunity for a student to work approximately 15 - 30 hours per week acquiring hands on experience in the electronics field. 


Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled full-time in a secondary school, adult education, college (no master’s level), or certificate/training program OR a graduate from one of these schools within 6 months post-graduation.
  • Must be a resident of the state of Colorado with Colorado Driver’s License and permanent address.
  • Experience using a power meter, volt meter, drill press and soldering iron.
  • Experience reading schematics preferred.
  • Experience documenting quality assurance and assembly procedures preferred. 
  • Technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

-Assist with building electronics
-Assist with performing board level and equipment troubleshooting
-Document quality assurance and assembly procedures

-Assist with managing the component-level inventory of equipment and instruments

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects and equipment
  • Ability to proficiently speak, read and write the English language.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Possess sufficient personal mobility, stamina and flexibility that requires bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting and moving objects; standing and walking; stretching, finger dexterity and visual acuity.

Working Environment

Moderate physical activity.  Work environment involves exposure to physical risks, such as exposure to class III and IV lasers, operating dangerous equipment or working with chemicals.  Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Use of personal protective equipment required to prevent exposure to hazards. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
