Intelligent Imaging Innovations (3i) is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to join our team in Paris, France.  3i is a global organization that designs and manufactures cutting edge microscopy imaging platforms. The Technical Support Specialist provides telephone and online customer support, conducts customer site visits and performs systems integration and quality assurance.  The post is based in Paris, France and requires travel throughout Europe.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in sciences, electrical and/or optical engineering preferred
    (FH or adequate qualification)
  • Experience in microscopy and biomedical sciences preferred
  • Extensive experience with computers and software programs

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical service and support of microscope-based imaging systems in Europe via email, telephone, web conference and onsite visits
  • Travel to customer sites to provide support, software and hardware installation, systemic troubleshooting, basic hardware repair, equipment relocation, annual system optimization and preventive maintenance
  • Assist with final assembly and quality assurance testing of microscopy systems
  • Act as initial point of contact providing technical support to scientists at biomedical research laboratories
  • Document support issues and manage the reconciliation process via a case tracking system
  • Provide support to scientific sales team
  • Represent the company at industry trade shows, scientific courses and demos

Position Requirements

-Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects and equipment up to 30 kilogram

-Ability to proficiently speak, read and write French and English languages

-Available to travel extensively throughout Europe and abroad, often on short notice

-Possess sufficient personal mobility, stamina and flexibility involving bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting and moving objects; standing and walking; stretching, finger dexterity

-Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus  

-Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods  

Working Environment

The work environment involves moderate physical activity and may require moving and lifting heavy equipment. Physical risks can include exposure to chemicals, bio-hazards and class 3b & 4 lasers, electrical systems and operating dangerous equipment. May experience moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures and use of personal protective equipment are required to minimize and prevent exposure to hazards.
