Description
Imaging Innovations (3i) designs and manufactures technologies for living cell, live cell and intravital fluorescence microscopy systems. 3i is looking for an intern to assist its support team with customer issues and systems support. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience combining life sciences with innovative technologies. Successful candidates must meet the qualifications and conditions of employment. This is a paid internship and offers flexible hours. Occasional travel may be required.


Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled full-time in a secondary school, adult education, college (no master’s level), or certificate/training program OR within 6 months post-graduation from one of these schools
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be a resident of the state of Colorado with a valid Colorado driver’s license and permanent address
  • Familiarity with microscopy and life sciences preferred
  • Technical and mechanical aptitude
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
 
  • Field email and phone inquiries
  • Document support issues
  • Manage the reconciliation process via a case tracking structure
  • Assist with quality assurance testing of microscopy systems
  • Occasional customer site visits may be required

Position Requirements

  • Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects and equipment up to 65 pounds
  • Ability to proficiently speak, read and write the English language
  • Work safely with lasers, optical and electrical systems; understand and follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
  • Possess sufficient personal mobility, stamina and flexibility that requires bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting and moving objects; standing and walking; stretching, finger dexterity and visual acuity

Working Environment

The work environment involves moderate physical activity and risks including exposure to class III & IV lasers, electrical systems and operating dangerous equipment. May experience moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Use of personal protective equipment required to prevent exposure to hazards.

  • Legally eligible for employment in the United States
  • Must be enrolled full-time in a secondary school, adult education, college (no master’s level), or certificate/training program OR a graduate from one of these schools within 6 months post-graduation
  • Must be a resident of the state of Colorado with a valid Colorado driver’s license and permanent address
  • Must be new to the internship program
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment background and motor vehicle record check
  • Agree to and sign 3i's confidentiality, non-compete employment agreement
