Summary
The quality assurance technician is part of the manufacturing team and assists production engineers with assembly and testing of microscopy systems and components.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in scientific, technology or engineering field or
- Previous experience as a manufacturing production or quality assurance technician
- Certified Production Technician (CPT) preferred
- Microscopy systems experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Build product subassemblies or final assemblies
- Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity
- Assist engineers in developing, building, or testing prototypes or new products, processes, or procedures
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications
- Install new equipment
- Component Testing
- Systems Testing
- Documentation of testing results
- Provide customer support on a technical level
Competencies
- Good motor skills and the ability to do fine assembly
- Ability to check for defects and identify and distinguish between colors
- Experience in a start-up or pilot production environment
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to read and carefully follow instructions
- Excellent attention to detail and good organization
- Capable of working independently to a production schedule
Essential Requirements
The requirements described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 65 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment involves moderate physical activity and may require moving and lifting heavy equipment. Physical risks can include exposure to chemicals, bio-hazards and class 3b & 4 lasers, electrical systems and operating dangerous equipment. May experience moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures and use of personal protective equipment are required to minimize and prevent exposure to hazards.
Conditions of Employment
- Legally authorized for employment in the United States.
- Successfully pass a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle record check.
- Agree to and sign 3i’s confidentiality, non-compete, employment agreement.
- Possess valid driver’s license and drive for company business.
- Travel, both domestic and international.
- Work safely with lasers, optical and electrical systems; understand and follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
- Resides in the Denver-Metro or surrounding area.
