Job Summary
3i is seeking a Microscopy Sales Specialist for its German subsidiary, Intelligent Imaging Innovations GmbH, located in Göttingen. The Sales Specialist works with prospective and current customers to understand their microscopy needs and propose solutions, often customized, based on Lattice LightSheet, Marianas and VIVO platforms. The position requires extensive travel, primarily within continental Europe. The position has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualified candidates must be legally eligible for employment in the European Union.
Qualifications
-Previous sales experience required
-Degree in biological or physical sciences preferred
-Experience in microscopy required
Responsibilities
Sales
Gain an understanding of the customer's microscopy needs; propose solutions and recommend optimal equipment; perform demos; conduct data analysis and ultimately transition these milestones into sales.
Installation and Training
Responsible for system installation and customer training.
Marketing & Teaching
Attend trade shows such as German Neuroscience and Focus on Microscopy; teach microscopy courses at European Light Microscopy Initiative, European Molecular Biology Organization, etc.
Customer Support
Assist with customer support to keep instruments functional in the field. Provide pre and post sales applications support. Manage customer accounts; regularly communicate with customers to ensure client satisfaction.
Requirements
- Strong business acumen
- Lift and move heavy equipment
- Possess sufficient personal mobility, stamina and flexibility that requires bending, stooping, kneeling, stretching, finger dexterity and visual acuity
- Ability to travel for business
- Possess a valid driver’s license and drive for company business
- Work safely with lasers and microscopy, optical and electrical systems
- Legally eligible for employment in the European Union

Working Environment
Primarily normal office working conditions in a light manufacturing setting. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Use of personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazards is required.
