Intelligent Imaging Innovations (3i) is seeking a Systems Engineering Scientist to join our team in Denver, Colorado.  3i is a global organization that designs and manufactures cutting edge microscopy imaging platforms.

The Systems Engineering Scientist interfaces with Application Scientists and customers to fully understand the systems' scientific goals,  determine specific instrument requirements and develop testing and quality assurance protocols.

Qualifications:

  • PhD. degree in scientific, technology or engineering field, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in scientific research and advanced imaging techniques
  • Five or more years of microscopy systems experience preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Attend system vetting meetings to understand scientific goals of each specific order or demo.
  • Interface with the Application Scientist and customer to ensure proper system specification and functionality is met.
  • Assist in system design and specification based on customer order, vetting meetings and customer feedback.
  • Assist in developing custom test plans and system validation.
  • Advise/train installation technician for each specific order.
  • Interface with Manufacturing and R&D/Engineering to develop solutions when there is a functionality failure that requires remanufacture or redesign respectively.
  • Interface with software developers to ensure promised functionality is delivered.
  • Assist in documentation records of testing and system validation.

Position Requirements:

The requirements described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move equipment weighing up to 65 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment involves moderate physical activity and may require moving and lifting heavy equipment. Physical risks can include exposure to chemicals, bio-hazards and class 3b & 4 lasers, electrical systems and operating dangerous equipment. May experience moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures and use of personal protective equipment are required to minimize and prevent exposure to hazards.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Possess valid driver’s license and drive for company business.
  • Travel, both domestic and international.
  • Work safely with lasers, optical and electrical systems; understand and follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
