Intelligent Imaging Innovations (3i) is a global organization that designs and manufactures cutting edge live cell and intravital microscopy imaging platforms. 3i is experiencing the most exciting chapter in its 21-year history and is looking for a Web Development Intern to join our team. This is a part-time, non-exempt, six-month paid internship opportunity in a pleasant, fast-paced, small company environment. The position is not eligible for company benefits.
Summary
The Web Development Intern assists the Director of Information Technology by contributing to a wide range of projects including Wordpress website optimization and enhancement, proprietary web-based CRM enhancements, and basic server administration.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled full-time in a secondary school, adult education, college (no master's level) or certificate/training program OR a graduate from one of these schools within 6 months post-graduation.
- Must be a resident of the state of Colorado with Colorado Driver’s License and permanent address.
- Possess sufficient personal mobility, stamina and flexibility that requires bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting and moving objects; standing and walking; stretching, finger dexterity, visual acuity; ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- WordPress website optimization (desktop and mobile versions)
- WordPress website enhancements:
- Automatically display publications stored in a MySQL database
- Embedded logins – Create a client login page tied to proprietary web-based customer relationship management (CRM) system
- Other IT activities:
- Basic server administration from installing updates to assisting with server outages
- Fixing bugs and adding features to proprietary web-based CRM system
Skills
- Proficiency in technical web development tools (HTML, Javascript, PHP)
- Familiarity with content management systems (Wordpress)
- Experience using MySQL or other SQL skills preferred
- Experience with Linux and/or Windows Server administration preferred
- Excellent problem solving skills required
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required
- Work independently as well as in partnership with a team
Time Commitment
Six-month, paid internship; 16 – 24 hours per week.
Conditions of Employment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must successfully pass pre-employment background and motor vehicle driving record check.
- Must agree to and sign 3i's Employment Agreement.
