Intelligent Imaging Innovations (3i) is a global biotech company headquartered in Denver, Colorado.  3i is looking for a creative 3D Computer-aided Design Drafter to join its development team. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established company designing and manufacturing cutting-edge microscopy systems. The ideal candidate possesses three or more years of SolidWorks modeling and drawing experience and is CSWP certified. This is a temporary, full-time position with the possibility of permanent employment in six months. 

Experience & Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience

• 3+ years in SolidWorks modeling and drawing 

• 1+ years with SolidWorks PDM 

• 1+ years working with fabricators 

• SolidWorks CSWP certified (extensive industry SolidWorks experience will be considered in lieu of certification)

• Experience operating metalworking equipment desirable 

• Previous experience with 3D printing technologies desirable

• Optics mounting experience a plus

Responsibilities 

• Generate models from existing parts

• Design new parts and assemblies from scratch

• Maintain large complex product assemblies

• Publish parts to a central repository for archival and distribution purposes 

• Suggest and help implement process improvements for distributing models and drawings

• Work with external manufacturing partners to quote parts, gather DFM feedback, and answer manufacturing questions

• Work and communicate remotely using email and teleconferencing software

• Proficient use of Windows, MS Office, G Suite

• Strong understanding of drawing standards and GD+T

• Intermediate knowledge of mechanical details and hardware

• Familiarity with inspection tools

• Possess sufficient personal mobility, stamina and flexibility that requires bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting and moving objects; standing and walking; stretching, finger dexterity, visual acuity; ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods  

Working Environment

The work environment involves moderate physical activity and may require moving and lifting heavy equipment. Physical risks can include exposure to chemicals, bio-hazards and class 3b & 4 lasers, electrical systems and operating dangerous equipment. May experience moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures and use of personal protective equipment are required to minimize and prevent exposure to hazards.
