Title:Technical Support Specialist

Intelligent Imaging Innovations (3i) designs and manufactures technologies for living cell, live cell and intravital fluorescence microscopy. 3i is looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join its expanding team in Denver, Colorado.  This is an exciting opportunity to join an established company offering innovative technologies. The ideal candidate is familiar with microscopy systems, possesses strong technical and mechanical skills and is able to problem-solve with minimal guidance. This is an exempt position and requires extensive travel, both domestic and international.


-Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
-Prior experience providing microscopy systems installation and support 
-Experience with microscopy platforms and systems preferred
-Familiarity with biomedical sciences preferred

Telephone and Online Support:
-Provide first response technical support to scientists at biomedical research laboratories
-Field email and phone inquiries immediately upon receipt
-Troubleshoot support issues involving software installation and execution and opto-electronic hardware performance
-Document support issues and manage the reconciliation process via a case tracking system
Customer Site Visits:
-Extensive travel to customer sites is required
-Site visits involve the same type of support as email and phone inquiries, and may include software and hardware installation of microscopy platforms/systems, systemic troubleshooting, basic hardware repair, equipment relocation, annual system optimization, preventative maintenance and non-scientific user training
Systems integration and QA:
-Assist with final assembly and quality assurance testing of microscopy systems

Position Requirements:

-Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasionally lift and/or move heavy equipment up to 65 pounds; specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
-Proficiently read and speak the English language

Working Environment:

Work in an environment utilizing a computer workstation. Work in a manufacturing environment around automated equipment which requires moderate physical activity and may require moving and lifting heavy equipment. Physical risks can include exposure to chemicals, bio-hazards and class 3b & 4 lasers, electrical systems and operating dangerous equipment. May experience moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors and/or loud noises. Adherence to company laser safety and standard operating procedures and use of personal protective equipment are required to minimize and prevent exposure to hazards.

Conditions of Employment:

-Legally eligible for employment in the United States
-Successfully pass a pre-employment background and motor vehicle record check

-Possess a valid driver's license and drive for company business; use of personal vehicle required on occasion
-Work safely with lasers, optical and electrical systems; understand and follow safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
-Travel extensively and on short-notice (domestic and international)
-Reside in Denver-metro or surrounding area
